This page contains stories of the concert tours we have made abroad. In addition to the tours mentioned below, we have made shorter trips to our neighbouring country Sweden a few times. We have e.g. visited Umeå, Vilhelmina and Stockholm. We have not included stories of our domestic concert and holiday trips here, because there has been so many of them that no one has had the time or the energy to keep an exact record of all of them.

Germany 1989
The main event of 1989, at least for the boys, was the concert tour to Germany. During the trip we had a lot of free time as well and we experienced many unforgettable moments....


Norway 1990
The seven-day trip to Norway began on the 3rd of August. Since we had no official concerts, we just took it easy and focused on sightseeing. This time around our group consisted of 42 boys, our conductor Simo, accompanist Arto and six parents...


Austria 1992
It was not a typical Monday afternoon on 1st of June, since our choir was about start a concert tour to Austria. This time around the journey began with a bus drive to Turku and from there we continued with a ship to Stockholm in Sweden. After a night spent on the Gulf of Bothnia we headed...


California, USA 1995
Our choir arranged a national boys' choir festival during the weekend 8th and 9th of April and already on the next Monday evening two busses were loaded with a total of 73 choir members and parents. We drove to Helsinki over night and our first flight was to London the next morning. We had to wait for a couple of hours before continuing to San Francisco, so we had time to entertain the people at the airport...


Baltic Sea Choir Festival - Flensburg, Saksa 1997
The high point of the year was definitely the trip to the Ostsee-Chorfest festival in Flensburg. One choir from each of the Baltic Sea coastal countries had been invited, and our choir had the honor to represent Finland in this choral event...


Rome, Italy 1998
Monday morning 16th of November a group consisting of 25 young men and our conductor was ready to start expedition of conquest to Rome. We were going to participate in the international choir competition of P.L. Palestrina as a male choir, so only the older members of our choir were on tour this time. Our journey began with a bus drive to Vaasa airport. The airplane seemed a bit too small...


Western Europe 2000
The year 2000 was a jubilee year for our choir, because already 15 years had passed from the establishment of the Veteli Boys' Choir. This milestone was celebrated with a big anniversary party and concert in May. The year climaxed with a concert tour to Western Europe, which had already been planned for a few years. The planning of the trip and the fund-raising had been a demanding job, because a really big group would be on tour this time...
